Halloween Happenings
So far this has been a pretty cool weekend. We had an amazing party between Saturday’s shows. The men’s dressing room was changed into a haunted house and everyone wore incredible costumes. Star Struck!
Star Struck was the name of the 16th annual benefit gala for the Great Neck Arts Center and I was thrilled to be named one of the honorees! There were some awesome performances at the event and I got to dance with my Irish Dance school, Inishfree. It was a blast from the past, as the saying goes!
YMCA Benefit
Monday, Oct. 26 - the Billys were honorees at the YMCA’s ninth annual Arts & Letters Auctions. Also honored were actress Tamara Tunie and celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson. The event was held at Jazz at Lincoln Center, a really cool venue and I got to perform Electricity in front of an enormous window looking out on Columbus Circle and the lights of nighttime NYC. It was awesome!
A Day with Daria
Today my sister Daria, a freshman at Marist College, came down to see BETM. Her school organized the trip and there were 3 coach busloads of students. Before I went in for warm-up, we had lunch together and I got to meet some of her friends. It was so good to see her and I tried to put on a good show for her !!!
School Days.................
I haven’t posted in a while - now that we Billys & Michaels are back at school, our schedules are even tighter. But when we do have a break between tutoring and rehearsals, we all know how to have a good laugh. Sometimes we hang out at my apartment during lunch break (or any break), eat, play a few games, just get away from it all!
Happy Birthday, Broadway BETM!
October 1 marked the first birthday of BETM here in NY. Tomorrow, October 8, is the anniversary of my first show here. In the last few days, we have all seen so many changes. Kiril performed an amazing final show Saturday night, Oct. 3. Haydn performed her last show (spectacular as always) here Oct. 4 - and I got to play Billy. That parting scene between Billy and Mrs.Wilkinson never felt so...
9/27/09: A Day of Fond Farewells
David Bologna was not the only one of my friends performing BETM for the last time on September 27. It was the final curtain call for Erin, Casey and Heather, too. There were tears, laughter, hugs and promises to stay in touch - along with a LOT of photos!!
