It was like being on a secret mission……..over 300 Broadways singers gathered on Friday and Sunday to practice the piece “Sunday” from Sunday in the Park with George. Then, on Monday night, we surprised Stephen Sondheim, at the end of the concert at Avery Fisher Hall, by coming out into the house, filling the stage and aisles and singing “Sunday”. We repeated this all again on Tuesday night, but of course, it wasn’t a surprise this time. We got an e-mail yesterday telling us Stephen was moved to tears.  Mission accomplished!
